The Crimson Hunt starts off slow but soon turns into a sexy and exciting sci-fi new-adult book. The prologue in this book is one of the most mysterious ones I've read. It left me with a ton of questions right from the get go yet it seemed like a lifetime until the mysterious started to be revealed.

Ariel is a college student who was unfortunate to lose her family at a young age. In the beginning of the book she's living with her best friend Piper and is just trying to make it through the everyday struggles of college (classes, friends, enemies). But then one day she bumps into (literally) Luca. He's an incredibly good looking stranger who gives Ariel mixed signals.

Ariel and Piper are the best, best friends I've read so far. They're polar opposites. Ariel is more laid back while Piper is a party girl. I loved Piper and how unique & free she is; Piper is my new spirit animal.

Luca... ah what don't I like about him? He's tall, dark & handsome with piercing green eyes. He's very mysterious and we all know that only draws us girls in even more! Even though he was clearly the hottest book character ever I liked the fact that Ariel wasn't sold on just his looks. I definitely adding him to my book boyfriend list.

One thing I should mention is that even though Crimson Hunt has a slow start it always had my attention. I was always trying to play detective on Luca and figure him out before Ariel did. Once he was figured out I kept trying to guess at what was going to happen next. When the book ended I was left with a lot of unanswered questions which I fully intend to figure out in the next book!

The Crimson Hunt is very much a sci-fi book however in the beginning it felt like it could have been a contemporary but then soon it had a paranormal quality to it. It just seemed like it took too long for the sci-fi aspect to kick in.

I would recommend this book and am planning on reading book two!
When I first heard about this book, I was instantly intrigued. I love New Adult but I haven't really read any with Science Fiction mixed into it. I thought I knew how the book would unfold but to my surprise and delight, this book wasn't at all how I first thought it would be.

At first, I had a bit of hard time liking Ariel. She was just so ditsy and was all over the place. I get that she was trying to make her relate able and all but after the fifth time she fell or knock something over I just found it irritating. Another thing I didn't really like about her was the way she acted like a complete idiot whenever around Luca. I swear like most of the chapters in the beginning where just her going on and one about his looks and I'm like "I got it the first five times can we move on!" Luckily, eventually she moves past her moment of crazy fan girl and starts acting like a normal person around him; and that's when I really started liking her. Ariel is strong, has a really sad past and I loved how she never seemed to give up.

Luca wasn't exactly nice when Ariel first meets him so I was wondering how they would end up being friends. I didn't really like him much in the beginning but he grew on me very quickly and I knew there was a reason behind why he would act so hot and cold at times. I really like the paranormal aspect of this book. I really didn't know what to expect and half the book I kept thinking I knew what he was and what would happen only for something else to happen and I'd be back to square one again.

There is romance but it's not very detailed and doesn't seem to be the main focus of the story. They do get together but it always seems to just fade into the background. A lot of unfortunate events happen in this book and I was honestly shocked how some things went down. I wish some things could have been different but I know that some things were necessary.

I really enjoyed The Crimson Hunt and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more. And I especially enjoyed the bonus scene at the end of the book; it was great to see things from Luca's eyes. If you enjoy New Adult and like paranormal reads with a great mix of mystery and romance then I'd definitely recommend you pick up this book!

This book will keep you reading and not want to stop. I love way the writer bring in the scifi part of the book with out it being cheesy.

Loved the fantasy behind it! And Luca is now one of my new book boyfriends (cause I have only a handful, ha!).
I truly enjoyed this book and it wasn't what it seemed in the beginning. The characters were well developed and the story line kept me guessing.
I would definitely recommend this book to fantasy lovers with a bit of a romantic side. I seriously can not wait for the sequel to come out!
