Still reading this book. I will be reading this book for a long time I think. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around just exactly what it is that's going on in the book. It was free and for that I'm grateful. It also helps me fall asleep rather quickly most nights. There seem to be a million characters and I've yet to really know who any of them actually are. I will read the whole thing and it may never make any sense, but I'm ok with that. I'd reccomend the book to other people I guess. If for nothing else, its historical value. It's probably the science fiction equivelant to mickey Spillane, except not nearly as interesting. But don't take my word for it.
One of the earliest and greatest space operas.
A great book, a Classic with an interesting viewpoint as to what could have occured in This Universe.
I first tread this book over 30 years ago, ad I enjoyed it then. Now, many years after Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and other Sci-Fi TV shows, movies and novels, I felt it was time to return to the first Space Opera I ever read. I am not disappointed.
The Lensman series tells of brave humans trying to be the Galaxy's elite police force, and doing a great job at it. Strong, handsome men and beautiful women make for interesting characters battling the forces of evil, especially while trying to keep their own families together. But enough of that. Any more, and I'll have to issue a Spoiler Alert....
There are seven books in the series, and all are worth reading. Buy them, and read them. As long as you don't mind the predictability of Space Opera, you will like these books as much as I do.
